A Presentation on "Narcoguide" Held at the Faculty of Pharmacy

On March 24, 2026, as part of the Career Days Events organized by our Faculty, a presentation on the "Narcoguide Youth Module" was given by Police Officer Fikret Özlü from the Mersin Provincial Police Department Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate, TUBİM Office.

The event, held in the Nevit Kodallı Conference Hall at our University's Yenişehir Campus, was attended by our Faculty's Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut ÜLGER, Dr. Ş. Efsun ANTMEN, faculty members, our Faculty Secretary Volkan DARÇIN, administrative staff, and students.

Following a moment of silence and the recitation of the National Anthem, the event focused on the reasons why young people turn to narcotic substances and approaches to preventing this process.

In his presentation, Fikret Özlü emphasized that curiosity, peer influence, family problems, stress, and psychological factors play a significant role in young people turning to substance use. He also defined addiction as the development of a need for a substance that is not essential for survival, and the difficulty in quitting. Furthermore, he provided information on the importance of combating narcotic crimes, access to drugs, and addiction treatment centers.

Following the presentation of a plaque to police officer Fikret Özlü by our Faculty's Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mahmut ÜLGER, the conference concluded with a group photo.
