Our Faculty administration, consisting of Dean Prof. Dr. Ünal ÖZDEMİR, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdem AKKAN and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkay GÜMÜŞ, and Faculty Secretary İbrahim KOÇ, visited the Mersin Chamber of Maritime Commerce, one of the important external stakeholders of our University and Faculty.

During the visit, the faculty administration met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mersin Chamber of Maritime Commerce, Mr. Cihat LOKMANOĞLU, and board members; they exchanged views on improving maritime education, strengthening university-industry cooperation, increasing practical training and internship opportunities for students, and joint projects and activities.

Our Dean, Prof. Dr. Ünal ÖZDEMİR, thanked the Mersin Chamber of Maritime Commerce for its contributions to our University and the Faculty of Maritime Studies to date, stating that the support provided during the construction of the faculty building was a significant example of university-industry solidarity. ÖZDEMİR stated that in the new term, they aim to further develop cooperation with the Mersin Chamber of Maritime Commerce in the fields of education, research, and social contribution.

Mr. Cihat LOKMANOĞLU, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mersin Chamber of Maritime Commerce, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation carried out with our University and the Faculty of Maritime Studies, and stated that they will continue to contribute to the training of qualified human resources needed by the maritime sector and support joint efforts.

The visit concluded with the exchange of mutual good wishes and joint assessments aimed at strengthening university-sector cooperation.
