An information event titled "Professional Solidarity and Our Identity," organized by the Anatolian Fisheries Engineers Association (ANA-SÜM-DER) under the coordination of the Faculty of Fisheries at Mersin University, was held.

The event, held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, between 16:00 and 17:00 at the Faculty of Fisheries in the Yenişehir Campus of Mersin University, brought together fisheries engineering students, academics, and sector representatives.

The Future of the Profession and Current Issues Were Discussed

Baran Kırboğa, the main speaker of the program and the President of the ANA-SÜM-DER Mersin Branch, a Fisheries Engineer, highlighted the ongoing efforts for the development of the profession, current developments in the sector, and the importance of solidarity among colleagues in his presentation. The event comprehensively addressed the strategic importance of the fisheries engineering profession, current problems faced by professionals, strengthening professional solidarity, and the steps that need to be taken to create a strong engineering identity. In the presentation, which attracted great interest from the participants, detailed answers were given to the following fundamental questions about the sector and profession:
