The Mersin University Faculty of Nursing organized an event titled “Performance Assessment in Nursing Education” on June 15-16, 2026, to contribute to the methodological development and standardization of measurement and evaluation practices in nursing education.

The event, held at the Mersin University Entrepreneurship Port, was led by Prof. Dr. Devrim ALICI, a faculty member from the Department of Measurement and Evaluation in Education, Faculty of Education, Mersin University.

On the first day, a training session titled “Structured Tools in Evaluating the Performance of Undergraduate Nursing Program Students” was conducted. The training covered structured measurement tools used in evaluating student performance, their development processes, effective use in educational settings, and a 360-degree assessment approach for students.

On the second day, a workshop titled “A Multidimensional Perspective on Measurement and Evaluation: A 360-Degree Assessment Workshop for Academics and Students” was held. Within the scope of the workshop, academics were given practical examples of using multi-source feedback obtained from students, nurse mentors, patients, and educators in performance evaluation processes, in line with the basic principles of the 360-degree evaluation approach.

The event, which aimed to establish a fair, transparent, and robust measurement and evaluation system while training future nurses, was completed with the intense interest and interactive contributions of the participating academics. At the end of the training, a certificate of appreciation was presented to Prof. Dr. Devrim ALICI by the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Duygu VEFİKULÇAY YILMAZ.

The event, carried out with the understanding of "Strong measurement, accurate evaluation, quality nursing education," aims to make a significant contribution to strengthening evaluation processes in nursing education and ensuring the sustainability of educational quality.
