A technical visit was conducted by the Accounting and Taxation Department of Mersin University's Vocational School of Social Sciences to the Mersin Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (SMMMO) to contribute to the professional development of students and to support their familiarity with the accounting sector.

The visit was attended by the Head of the Accounting and Taxation Department, Lecturer Dr. Emrah Yıldız, faculty members Lecturer Tolga Uysal and Lecturer Dr. Şerban Bakay Ergene, and students from the Accounting Program. Representing the Mersin SMMMO were Chamber Secretary Murat Taşdemir, TESMER Board Member Certified Public Accountant Dr. Öznur Dilara Taş, Mersin TESMER Director Bekir Hüsnü Zengin, and Chamber General Administrative Manager Gizem Gül, who welcomed the students.

During the visit, chamber representatives provided comprehensive information about the structure of the accounting profession, its areas of work, professional responsibilities, and career opportunities for young people. Students learned about current practices in the field of accounting and financial consultancy and had the opportunity to exchange views directly with sector representatives.

The event aimed to supplement students' theoretical education with practical and field experience relevant to their professional lives. It was also assessed that students gained significant professional skills that will contribute to their career planning.

The Accounting and Taxation Department of the Vocational School of Social Sciences expressed its gratitude to the representatives of the Mersin Chamber of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Advisors for their hospitality and valuable contributions to our students.
