A coordination meeting was held on February 19, 2026, regarding the Teaching Practice course conducted in schools affiliated with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education for the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. The meeting was attended by Dean Prof. Dr. M. Nisa Ünaldı Coral, Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nejla Gürefe and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökhan Güneş, MEB Application Coordinator Branch Manager Halil Akyürek, Head of the Foreign Languages ​​Education Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Pınar Babanoğlu, Deputy Head of the Turkish and Social Sciences Education Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Ergene, and Birgül Oban, Head of the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The meeting included a general evaluation of the fall semester. Measures to be taken regarding potential disruptions and possible class conflicts in the planning of weekly class schedules for students continuing the Teaching Practice course in the spring semester were discussed.

Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the planning of teacher training practices within the scope of Pedagogical Formation Training, which is offered in other undergraduate programs at Mersin University and coordinated by the Faculty of Education.

Information was provided on the accreditation processes of the Primary School Mathematics Teaching, Science Teaching, and English Teaching programs; and the work to be carried out within the scope of the field visit to be conducted by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Faculty of Education Programs (EPDAD) in March was shared.

The meeting concluded with the hope that the strong cooperation between the university and the Provincial Directorate of National Education would continue and that the professional development processes of prospective teachers would be supported at the highest level.
