The Etwinning Ite Webinar Series At The Faculty Of Education Has Been Successfully Completed

Within the scope of the eTwinning ITE (Initial Teacher Education) activities conducted under the auspices of the Faculty of Education at Mersin University, a webinar series moderated by our ITE Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ümit İzgi Onbaşılı has been completed. The webinars were held with the participation of our Dean Prof. Dr. Nisa Ünaldı Coral, and with the intense interest of our faculty members and numerous students. The events were conducted with the support of Mersin Provincial Coordinator Bircan Keleş and in cooperation with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The webinar series constituted the closing part of the work carried out within the scope of the project titled “First Steps into ESEP and eTwinning: A Mentorship-Based Project Development Programme for Student Teachers”. The final sessions of the webinar series conducted within the scope of this project were completed online.

The first of the online sessions held within this scope began on January 14, 2026, with a training session titled “eTwinning in the Context of 21st Century Education” by Adil Tuğyan, ESEP-eTwinning Online Learning Expert of the European School Network. On January 27, 2026, a session titled “eTwinning Project Planning and Content Tools” addressed the planning steps of eTwinning projects, structuring the project framework, and digital tools that can be used in content development processes, with practical examples. The webinar was presented by Kenan Çete, eTwinning Content Development Trainer.

The closing online session of the project was held on February 10, 2026, under the title “Award-Winning eTwinning Project Examples.” In this session, best practice examples related to project design, partnership management, event planning, quality criteria, and dissemination processes were shared through award-winning eTwinning projects. The webinar was presented by Neslihan Altıner and Sevda Tamer.

Following the completion of the webinar process, project work will continue with face-to-face participation at our faculty; the aim will be to support prospective teachers' project development skills in a practical way through an eTwinning project writing training workshop.
