The First Seminar in Our Faculty's Series Was Held: "SSCI Publication Experiences"

The academic development events organized by the Faculty of Education at Mersin University began with the "Seminar Series - 1." The first guest speaker, Prof. Dr. N. Bilge KATKAT, met with our faculty members and research assistants with her presentation titled "SSCI Publication Experiences." The seminar, held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 13:00 in the Faculty of Education EBB Seminar - 2 hall, attracted significant interest from our academic staff.

The seminar covered all aspects of the process of publishing in internationally prestigious SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) indexed journals. Prof. Dr. Katkat provided valuable information to the participants on the following topics:

Strategic points to consider in the publication preparation process,

Expectations and evaluation criteria of international peer-reviewed journals,

Management of peer review processes,

Strategic planning for producing high-quality scientific output, Journal selection and methods for increasing academic visibility.

Sharing examples and experiences from her own publishing journey, Prof. Dr. Katkat answered participants' questions after her presentation. The event increased young academics' awareness of publishing processes and contributed to the academic collaboration environment in our faculty. The "Seminar Series" within the Faculty of Education will continue throughout the academic term with different topics and guest speakers.
