Our Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Kadir Ulusoy Received The Scientist Of The Year Career Honor Award.
Professor Dr. Kadir Ulusoy, a faculty member at Mersin University's Faculty of Education, was awarded the "Scientist of the Year Career Honor Award" for his academic work and societal contributions.
The award, presented at a ceremony held in Ankara on January 30, 2026, was awarded by the World Journalists Association Turkey Presidency, the Union of Academics and Bureaucrats of the Turkic World, and the Central Anatolia Union Selection Scientific Committee.
Professor Dr. Ulusoy, whose academic work focuses on values education, ethics, character development, and a culture of social consensus, has developed numerous books, scientific articles, educational models, and projects in these areas. His works, which are among the fundamental reference sources in the field of values education, have made significant contributions to teacher training processes and educational policies.
With his approach that integrates scientific knowledge production with field applications, Professor Dr. Ulusoy has served as a coordinator, project manager, consultant, and expert in projects supported by TÜBİTAK, the Ministry of National Education, and the European Union. He has pioneered work aimed at strengthening cultural diversity, democratic citizenship, and a culture of coexistence.
Currently leading the “Cultural Diversity and Reconciliation Education” and “Self-Discovering Youth” projects, supported by the European Union and the Turkish National Agency, Prof. Dr. Ulusoy is carrying out important activities aimed at strengthening the culture of living together around reconciliation and shared values in Turkey, and helping young people discover themselves in line with national, spiritual, and universal values.
With his scientific output, project leadership, and understanding of social responsibility, Prof. Dr. Kadir Ulusoy, who places the transformative power of education at the center of his work, was deemed worthy of the “Scientist of the Year Career Honor Award.”
