LÖSEV Benefit Group: “trip To LÖSEV Village And Lösante Hospital” Project
LÖSEV Benefit Society: ‘Trip to LÖSEV Village and LÖSANTE Hospital’ Project
The ‘Trip to LÖSEV Village and Lösante Hospital’ project, developed by the Mersin University LÖSEV Benefit Society, has been awarded funding under the University Student Clubs Cooperation and Support Program (ÜNİDES), programme, which is a support programme for university student clubs run by the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports' Directorate General of Youth Services.
As part of the project, members of the LÖSEV Benefit Community organised an important awareness and cultural trip to Ankara. During the trip, students visited the LÖSEV Village, LÖSANTE Hospital, and the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations. Through this meaningful programme, students gained an awareness of social responsibility and had the opportunity to learn about Anatolia's rich history.
During the visit to LÖSEV Village, students observed the living spaces built for children battling leukaemia and learned about LÖSEV's social support models. At LÖSANTE Hospital, students were introduced to multidisciplinary treatment approaches for children and adult patients; they interacted with both healthcare professionals and individuals undergoing treatment.
In the final stage of the programme, students visited the Museum of Anatolian Civilisations, where they closely examined the cultural heritage of Anatolia, spanning from prehistoric times to the Ottoman Empire. The museum visit contributed to the students' historical awareness and understanding of cultural values.
This project was an important step in supporting Mersin University students' mission of social contribution based on social awareness, cultural awareness and volunteering. The LÖSEV Benefit Community stated that awareness efforts with similar projects would be continued.
