Tourism And Hotel Management Program Students' Technical Trip To Tarsus And Surroundings

Students from the Tourism and Hotel Management Program at Mersin University's School of Social Sciences participated in a comprehensive technical trip to Tarsus and its surrounding area on November 25, 2025. The trip, which served as fieldwork for the program courses, was conducted under the academic supervision of Instructors Dr. Döndü Can and Instructor İbrahim Çakan.

Organized as a one-day trip, the students had the opportunity to firsthand examine the region's cultural heritage, historical fabric, and tourism potential. The trip included visits to historical and natural treasures of Tarsus, including Taşkuyu Cave, Eshab-ı Kehf (the Cave of the Cave), Tarsus Waterfall, Tarsus Museum, Ulu Mosque, Kırkkaşık Bedesten (Covered Bazaar), Kubat Pasha Madrasa (City Museum), and St. Paul's Museum.

The students had the opportunity to observe the fundamental elements of the tourism sector in the field and solidify their theoretical knowledge with practical application. At the end of the trip, the group took a group photo and returned to campus around 5:00 PM.
