Mersin University's Biology Department held an Internal Stakeholder Meeting with the participation of first- to fourth-year student representatives and class advisors. The meeting, designed to gather student feedback on educational processes and evaluate suggestions for program improvement, provided a productive feedback environment.

The requests and suggestions expressed by students at the meeting were grouped under the following headings:

• Laboratory Improvements and Arrangements

Students expressed their desire to organize the laboratories, improve cleaning procedures, and supplement missing materials. Increasing the supply of basic laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and stereo microscopes, was also highlighted as a significant need.

• Molecular Biology Laboratory Request

A common expectation among students was to strengthen both theoretical and practical aspects of courses involving Molecular Biology applications, and to establish a dedicated Molecular Biology Laboratory for this purpose.

• Exam Schedule and Academic Planning

Students requested that exams for two main courses not fall on the same day and that midterms not be compressed into a single week. The program was expected to be more evenly distributed.

• Career Planning and Alumni Communication

It was suggested that training content on the effective use of digital platforms such as LinkedIn be incorporated into the program to support career planning processes.

Furthermore, requests for strengthening communication with alumni, organizing alumni meetings, and holding online career days were prominent.

• Classroom Activities and Student Meetings

Students stated that regular class-level meetings and student-advisor meetings would strengthen communication.

• Animal Physiology Laboratory Applications

A request was made to obtain the necessary ethics committee approvals to conduct applications such as frog dissection in the Animal Physiology course.

The department administration carefully evaluated all suggestions submitted by students and stated that it prioritized continuous improvement in its educational and training processes. It emphasized its commitment to regularly holding these meetings with internal stakeholders and incorporating student feedback into the program.
