Training On Ionizing And Non-ıonizing Radiation Was Provided To Administrative And Academic Staff Of The Faculty Of Health Sciences

The Nuclear Sciences Application and Research Center provided training on ionizing and non-ionizing radiation to administrative and academic staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences on November 21, 2025, and introduced the RADİSA device. Dr. Çobaner emphasized that approximately 55% of natural radiation comes from Radon gas, while artificial radiation accounts for around 14%. He also discussed the importance of ventilating homes, especially during winter, to protect against natural radiation. Finally, he emphasized that radioactive elements like polonium, which adhere to tobacco plants, cannot be eliminated during processing and are transferred into cigarettes, leading to lung cancer.

At the end of the training, Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. İlhan EGE presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Şenel Çobaner, who conducted the training on behalf of the Nuclear Sciences Application and Research Center.
