The 2024-2025 Academic Year graduation ceremony, jointly organized by our university's Faculty of Science and the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, was held with great enthusiasm.
The ceremony held at our University's Mediterranean Culture Center on Friday, June 27th was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çağrı Çetin, our Faculty of Science Dean Prof. Dr. Recep Özen, our Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Taşkıner Ketenci, our faculty members, our graduates, and their families.
After a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, our students paraded through the procession and took their places on stage. The ceremony continued with opening remarks.
“We are experiencing a special day where the efforts, patience and sacrifices that have spread over many years have come to an end.”
Our Vice Rector, Prof. Dr., began his speech by stating that they were at a meaningful gathering where our valued parents, students and academic staff shared pride and happiness, and where the joy of graduation turned into a shared excitement in their hearts. Mehmet Çağrı Çetin said, “We are deeply proud and delighted to witness the graduation of our students, the apples of our eyes. Mersin University is a well-established university that constantly renews itself, with over 5,000 staff and nearly 50,000 students. We are moving forward with determined steps towards the future with the projects we carry out in the fields of science, technology, and the arts. As we rapidly rise in national and international rankings, we stand out strongly in the R&D field with our TÜBİTAK-supported projects, MEİTAM, TTO, Entrepreneurship Center, and Technopark. We hold a leading position with our digital hospital transformation, student-focused projects, sustainability efforts, and our "Sports-Friendly Campus" award. Our university continues to strengthen its physical infrastructure with the opening of new conference halls, cafeterias, and the Maritime Faculty building. With the right projects undertaken by our academic and administrative staff, we all see that we are moving forward with firm steps in the Turkish Century.”
