Basic Life Support Training Successfully Conducted
Basic Life Support training was successfully conducted on April 10, 16, and 17, 2026, in collaboration with Mersin University Faculty of Nursing and Vocational School of Health Services. This training, which is of critical importance in the field of health, aimed to improve our students' skills in correct and effective intervention in emergency situations.
Within the scope of the training program, participants were provided with theoretical and practical information on topics such as the importance of basic life support, intervention steps, and the use of automatic external defibrillators (AEDs). The active participation and interest of our students in the applications were noteworthy in the trainings given by expert academics in the field.
Peer training was conducted by 2nd-year students of our Vocational School's First and Emergency Aid Program who participated in the event. In this way, our students had the opportunity to both reinforce the information they learned and improve their professional knowledge and training skills. Peer training applications significantly contributed to the learning process and increased the efficiency of the event. At the end of the training program, the Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Duygu VEFİKULUÇAY YILMAZ, and our Vocational School Director, Prof. Dr. Gülay ALTUN UĞRAŞ presented certificates of appreciation to our instructors who participated in the training process and to the 2nd-year students of the Emergency and First Aid Program who took part in peer education.
