PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION TRAINING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM FOR GRADUATES 2025-2026 ACADEMIC YEAR PRE-REGISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT

Mersin University will be offering a "Pedagogical Formation Training Certificate Program for Graduates" in the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year, in accordance with the Council of Higher Education's letter dated September 27, 2021, and numbered 64953. Only undergraduate candidates are eligible to apply for the program.

The quotas, application requirements and application process, exact registration dates, academic calendar, fee, required documents, and other details for the "Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program for Graduates" determined by the University Senate are listed below:

1- WHO CAN APPLY?

For the "Teaching Fields" specified in the title:

- 60% of the quota will be accepted from Mersin University graduates, and 40% from other university graduates (including Open Education Faculties). (If these ratios cannot be met, transfers will be made from the Mersin University graduate quota to another, or from the other university graduate quota to the Mersin University graduate quota.)

- The fields of application for the Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program for Graduates and the number of quotas by field are shown in Table 1. Student quotas accepted for the Pedagogical Formation Education Certificate Program for Graduates The number of students registered is set at 600. For the program to be opened, the total number of students must be at least 300.

- Graduates of the following departments/programs, selected from among the fields specified in the Ministry of National Education's Board of Education's Decision No. 9 dated February 20, 2014, and in the relevant issue of the Journal of Announcements, which was updated in accordance with the said decision, are eligible to apply for the Pedagogical Formation Training Certificate Program. https://ttkb.meb.gov.tr/meb_iys_dosyalar/2022_06/30161256_9_cizelgeveesaslar.pdf

- Candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest based on their graduation transcript GPAs, based on the designated quota, to be eligible for enrollment in the program. In the event of a tie, priority will be given to the candidate(s) with the oldest graduation year.

Important Note: Applicants must apply to the Mersin University Student Affairs Information System. Applicants must submit their applications online via the website (https://oibsr.mersin.edu.tr/basvuru/). All information and documents requested on the application page must be entered and uploaded completely.

* Those who submit inaccurate/incomplete information, documents, or declarations during the application process will not be registered or will have their registrations deleted, even if they are eligible for registration. All responsibility in this matter rests with the applicants!

* Applicants must follow the warnings that may be sent through the "Candidate Information System." All responsibility in this matter rests with the applicants!

- The number of quotas allocated for each field has been determined by taking into account the physical capacity of our university, the number of faculty members, the number of certified teachers by field/branch at the Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the relevant decisions of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the University Senate.

- If the quota for the relevant field is not filled, any remaining quotas may be transferred to other fields.

- International graduates must submit equivalency documents for the relevant field obtained from the YÖK. It is mandatory.

- Candidates who have graduated from universities both in Turkey and abroad must update their YÖKSİS (Higher Education Institutions Exam) information; this is the responsibility of the candidate.

- Students who have registered at Mersin University and who have registered at other universities must have their Pedagogical Formation and MEBBİS records deleted from the relevant university. This is the responsibility of the candidate.

- The Teaching Practice course will be held face-to-face, and the practical application of these courses will be conducted at schools affiliated with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education. Attendance is required for the theoretical portion of these courses, at least 70%, and for the practical application portion in schools, at least 100%.

*Students enrolled in the MERSIN UNIVERSITY PEDAGOGICAL FORMATION TRAINING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM for GRADUATES before 2021 will be able to complete the teaching practice course they never took or failed, starting from the Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year, as per YÖK's Pedagogical Formation for Graduates. They are required to take the training in accordance with the Framework Procedures and Principles for the Certificate Program.

*The Teaching Practice course will be offered in public schools in Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar, and Yenişehir, which are central districts affiliated with the Mersin Provincial Directorate of National Education (if deemed necessary, the Provincial Directorate of National Education may assign teachers to other districts depending on the availability of teachers and schools).
