Su Ürünleri Fakültesi’nde Değişim Programları Bilgilendirme Toplantısı Düzenlendi
On Friday, December 20, 2024, at 13:00, an Exchange Program information session was held at the Faculty of Fisheries under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Kenan Engin. The session, which attracted intense interest from Faculty students, provided detailed information about Erasmus learning mobility and its processes.

Prof. Dr. Engin explained in detail the application and acceptance process for the Erasmus program, partner countries and universities, pre-study requirements, and the "Learning Agreement." In particular, it was emphasized that West Pomeranian University of Technology in Poland has a 70–80% curriculum compatibility with the Faculty's program, and information was provided about the opportunities offered by this university.
During the session, student Gizem Işık, who experienced Erasmus for two semesters in Poland, also shared her own experiences with participants. Gizem Işık provided information about social life in the city where she stayed, language proficiency levels, ESN (Erasmus Student Network), and the buddy program. She also answered questions from students regarding language proficiency. She noted that while locals in Poland are generally reluctant to speak English, courses for Erasmus students are entirely in English and that faculty members have a sufficient level of English proficiency. She also provided information about laboratory and fieldwork practices.

Işık conveyed that those who wish to learn the local language can take A2-level courses in Poland and offered suggestions for overcoming language barriers. She noted that social life in Poland largely takes place in the Polish language and that cycling around the city is a popular activity.
During the session, Prof. Dr. Sahire KaraytuÄŸ also provided important advice to students regarding the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and the experiences they should gain through the Erasmus program. Emphasizing that social and cultural development is as important as academic success, KaraytuÄŸ expressed that students should make the most of the opportunities offered by this program.

The session, which offered participants the opportunity to benefit from the experiences of students who gained educational and cultural experience in Europe through the Erasmus program, was greatly appreciated by attendees.
