Amacı	The course will teach practical skills allowing identification of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rock types and their alteration products in hand specimen and in outcrop.
İçeriği	Rock cycle, igneous rock-forming processes, nomenclature of the igneous rocks, melting and crystallization of igneous minerals, description of igneous rocks, metamorphism and its types, metamorphic factors and processes, metamorphic faciesses, description of metamorphic rocks in handspacimens and under the microscope, sedimentary rock-forming processes, classification of sedimentary rocks, description of sedimentary rocks in handspacimen and under the microscope.
