EXTERNAL RELATIONS AND PROJECTS COORDINATION

The Mersin University External Relations and Projects Coordination Unit is responsible for the effective and efficient maintenance of national and international projects, collaborations, and external relations activities aimed at social benefit and local development carried out within Mersin University. As part of the restructuring efforts, the External Relations Coordination Unit was merged with the Mersin University Projects and Research Coordination Unit in accordance with the letter dated December 27, 2019, and the relevant decision taken by the Mersin University Human Resources Department. In this context, the Coordination's duties and responsibilities have been expanded and redefined to include activities such as managing and developing external relations, implementing exchange programs, disseminating project culture in areas of social benefit and local development, and ensuring that academic staff more effectively utilize national/international funding sources.

In this regard, the Unit continues its activities under the name "Mersin University External Relations and Projects Coordination Office," affiliated with the Mersin University Rectorate. With its new structure, the Coordination Office aims to increase the University's visibility at both national and international levels, strengthen project-based collaboration between academic and administrative units, and coordinate projects implemented within the framework of various international programs, particularly those related to the European Union, in the areas of social benefit and local development.

Today, the Mersin University External Relations and Projects Coordination Office continues to play a key role in innovation, internationalization, and institutional capacity building, in line with the University's strategic goals.

Our Coordination Office:

· To represent our University on national and international platforms,

· To facilitate collaboration between our University and domestic and international institutions,

· To conduct national and international exchange programs,

· To develop national and international projects in the areas of social benefit and local development within Mersin University or in collaboration with other institutions and organizations,

· To provide consulting services to our University faculty members on generating project ideas, writing projects, and implementing projects aimed at social benefit and local development.

MISSION

The mission of the Mersin University External Relations and Projects Coordination Office is to develop the University's academic, cultural, and strategic collaborations at national and international levels; to disseminate an education approach based on universal values ​​throughout the University through student-faculty mobility; to support knowledge production, social benefit, and local development through projects it implements and supports; and to increase the University's global visibility within the scope of these activities.

To this end, the Coordination Office carries out activities compatible with national and international funding sources such as European Union grants, the Erasmus Program, and grant programs from Ministries and Development Agencies. It encourages university members and local stakeholders to take an active role in project processes and supports knowledge sharing through collaborations.

VISION

The vision of the Mersin University External Relations and Projects Coordination Office is to play a leading role in creating a global university model that maximizes the benefits of exchange programs by developing local, national, and international collaborations, establishes strong relationships with national and international funding agencies, and develops sustainable projects for social benefit and local development and provides support services.
