Jewellery and Jewelry Design

Department Information

Students graduating from this program in Turkey are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in vocational courses in jewellery, gemology, and design, aligned with technological advancements. Upon graduation, they have employment opportunities in the application and design departments of factories and workshops operating in the jewellery industry.

Historical Development

This program, previously offered at Silifke Vocational School under the name Stone Metal Processing, has continued under the name Applied Jewelry Technology at Mersin Vocational School since 1997. It currently continues its education and training as the Jewellery and Jewelry Design Program within the Department of Handicrafts at the Vocational School of Technical Sciences.

Our Mission: In line with the university's mission: Through education and training activities and research and development, we aim to cultivate individuals who are open to change and development, possess the flexibility, strategic and creative thinking skills required by change, embrace democracy, the rule of law, and ethical values, understand the importance of understanding and establishing common goals, are problem solvers, know how to make decisions, access and use information, are competent in managing resources and time, and are committed to sharing their knowledge with other individuals and institutions.
