In 1988, it was included within the scope of the YÖK/World Bank Industrial Training Project and was established under the Mersin Vocational School, Technical Programs Department, and student admission started. Currently, Vocational School of Technical Sciences continues to recruit students within the Department of Construction.

Rules on Recognition of Prior Learning (formal, in-formal, non-formal)

The process of recognition of prior education in Turkish higher education institutions is still in its early stages. For this reason, recognition of prior education has not been fully initiated in all programs of Mersin University. However, English etc., which are included in the compulsory curriculum of the departments. Exemption exams are held at the beginning of each semester for courses. Students who have completed the learning process on their own from these courses or who think that they have achieved the learning outcomes in these courses through different means have the right to take these exams. Students who take the exam and are successful are exempt from the relevant courses in the curriculum.

Qualification Conditions and Rules

The conditions that students must meet in order to obtain an associate degree in the field of construction technology (to earn the title of Civil Technician); a) Having passed all courses in the curriculum with at least a DD grade, b) Having obtained a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, c) Having completed the 40-day compulsory internship period and receiving a passing grade from the reports prepared for this internship.

Program Profile

Construction Technology Program is a program that provides preliminary training on the construction and operation of all kinds of structures that people use in their daily lives. Construction Technology is a technical discipline whose foundation is based on mathematics and physics education, followed by general knowledge in major engineering sciences such as structure, mechanics, hydraulics, building materials, transportation, geotechnics and construction management. The main goal of the program is; To train technical personnel who follow science and technology and are equipped with the necessary knowledge in parallel with the developing technology and the skills to transfer this knowledge into practice. For this purpose, in addition to theoretical information, our program provides practical information to be used in the field of application and licensed training of many computer programs related to the department (such as SAP2000, IDESTATİK, AUTOCAD
