1. I've just been accepted to your university. What should I do to register?
Registration at our university is done through e-Government. To do this, you need to go to the nearest post office and obtain an e-Government password.

2. I've just been accepted to your university. Will I pay tuition fees for registration?
Daytime students do not pay tuition fees during the regular period.

3. I've just enrolled at your university. Do I need to register for courses?
Newly enrolled students, like other intermediate students, must select the courses they need to take and register for them at the time of course selection.

4. How can I select courses to renew my registration?
Course registration can be done by logging into the OBS system via e-Government.

5. Is advisor approval required for course selection?
Advisor approval is not required for course selection. The student is entirely responsible for course selection. Students can seek assistance from their advisor at the time of course selection.

6. Who can I contact first if I have any questions?
The first person I can contact is your program advisor.

7. When can I add or drop a course?
The deadline specified in the academic calendar must be adhered to.

8. Can I change an elective course later?
Elective course changes can be made during second-term course registration.

9. I was unable to select my course within the announced timeframe due to an excuse. What should I do?
Students who were unable to select their course within the announced timeframe due to an excuse must submit a petition to our university within the first week of the academic term.

10. Is attendance mandatory?
Attendance is mandatory for 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of practical courses.

11. I previously attended a university. How can I be exempt from courses I successfully completed?
Newly enrolled students can request exemptions from courses they have successfully completed at the higher education institution they were previously enrolled in. Students wishing to request an exemption may only apply until the last business day of the second week of the academic year in which they first registered with the unit. However, students who become eligible to register after the academic year begins must submit their exemption requests within five business days of registration. Applications from students who fail to apply within the deadline will not be considered.

12. I want to freeze my registration. What should I do?
Students wishing to freeze my registration must submit a petition to our School of Higher Education within the first two weeks, documenting the reasons for freezing my registration.

13. Is there a grade limit for the final or make-up exam?

Students who score below 50 on the final or make-up exam will fail the course, regardless of their midterm grade.

14. How is the final grade calculated?
When calculating the final grade, 40% of the midterm exam grade for theoretical courses and 60% of the final grade are calculated and added together.

15. I have failed a course from the previous semesters. Is there a threshold for taking courses from the next grade?
Students can take a maximum of 45 ECTS credits in the current semester, provided they pass or fail the courses they missed from the previous grade.

16. How can I view my exam grades?
Grades can be accessed by logging in to https://obs.mersin.edu.tr with your username and password.

17. I want to object to my exam results. What should I do?
The deadline for objecting to the announced exam is five business days. To do so, an objection petition must be submitted to our School of Higher Education.

18. I had to take a sick leave due to illness. Does this affect my absences?

Yes, it does. The absences are not valid.

19. I had to take a sick leave due to illness during midterm or final exams. Can I retake the exam?
After the report is evaluated, the midterm exam can be retaken, but the final exam cannot be taken.

20. I passed all my courses, but can I graduate with a GPA below 2.00?
The minimum passing grade is 60. Students who pass all their courses but do not have the 60.00 GPA required for graduation can take a single-course exam in any of the courses they have previously taken on the dates specified in the academic calendar. However, students who cannot raise their GPA to 60.00 with the single-course exam score are not allowed to take this exam.

21. I want to transfer to another university through horizontal transfer. What should I do?
Students wishing to transfer must obtain the required documents from our School of Higher Education and apply to the university they wish to attend.

22. In which semesters can I transfer?
Transfer is possible in the second and third semesters with a GPA, or starting from the second semester with Additional Article 1 (Central Placement).

23. I am currently studying in a department. Can I transfer to another department with a different ÖSYM score?
In order to transfer to another department with an ÖSYM score, the score obtained in the year the exam is taken must be equal to or higher than the base score of the department you want to transfer to in that year.

24. I have graduated. How can I obtain my diploma and diploma supplement?
Diplomas and diploma supplements are obtained from the Student Affairs Office.

25. What documents are required for practical courses?
Students taking internships and practical courses at our University's Health Research and Practice Hospital and other units can obtain the required medical report from their preferred healthcare institution. They must also have completed at least 16 hours of occupational health and safety training.
