Tourism Management Doctoral Program
Tourism Management’s Doctoral Program started in
2009/2010 academic year within the body of Institute of Social Sciences.
Tourism Management doctoral program aims to let PhD students develop their
analysis and conceptual thinking abilities. •To let PhD students grasp the true
spirit of being researcher and experience it. •To make students know the
international “Ethical Principles” and proctoring master students of utilizing
these principles in their studies. • To encourage and equip PhD students to
structure and defend dissertation subjects appropriate for their fields. •To guide
PhD students to make appropriate course selections and research fields for
their personal interests. •To encourage PhD students to participate academic
and sectoral events to establish and enhance their contacts. • To encourage PhD
students to conduct self-evaluations. • To encourage PhD students to
participate in various academic environments and express themselves freely. • To
encourage PhD students to search for new information technologies in his or her
field and to use them effectively. • To support PhD students to contribute to
their academic field of study with their own work and studies. Ph.D students
with a prior M.S degree should; 1- complete courses with minimum 21 credits
(120 ECTS) and submit a seminar. 2- pass
the Ph.D. Qualification Test, 3- prepare a written dissertation (120 ECTS) and
defend it before a jury of experts for the PhD. degree. Ph.D students with a
prior B.A. degree should; 1- attend courses of the accepted Department or
related departments with minimum 42 credits (150 ECTS) and at least two
seminars and pass them with a minimum score of 80 points, 2- pass the Ph.D.
Qualification Test, 3- prepare a written dissertation (150 ECTS) and defend it
before a jury of experts for the PhD. degree. Students who successfully
complete Ph.D. programme and meet the requirements of the courses can have a
further academic career by being employed in University as a faculty member
meeting the requirements of “Faculty Members Acceptance and Preferment Criteria”.
In addition, they can apply to post-doc programmes.
