Economics Doctoral Program

The Department of Economics within The Institute of Social Sciences has been accepting Ph.D students since 2013-2014 Academic Year.

Admission & Registration Requirements
The candidates applying to Ph.D programme must (i) have  an MA or an MS degree from related disciplines, (ii) have sufficient scores from the related parts of ALES (Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam), (iii) have sufficient language skills (at least 55 points from ÃœDS, KPDS or sufficient score from an equivalent exam (iv) be successful in the interview administered by the Department.


Recognition of Prior Learning
The students who study at Mersin University may be exempt from some courses according to certain regulations. They may be exempt from the courses if the application is in time and the content is approved by the administrative board of the related vocational school/faculty/institute.


Profile of the Programme
Ph.D. in economics aims to provide a formation of universal norms in the field of theoretical and applied economics. Ph. D. program in economics is designed in a manner that enables graduates to analyse economic problems and policies and solve them with an academic perspective.
