The main purpose of the Department of Fine Arts Education of Mersin University Faculty of Education is to engage in academic and artistic activities at national and international levels; and to raise students who are responsible, creative, innovative, and productive individuals who are aware of human heritage and values, sensitive to the city, country, and world they live in, and who have high self-confidence, with the principle of lifelong learning. In 2019, our department started its education and training at the thesis master's degree level by accepting students for the Art Education and Music Education programs affiliated to the Institute of Educational Sciences. In 2023, PhD, Non-thesis Master's Degree programs in the Art Education Department, and Non-thesis Master's Degree programs in the Music Education Department were opened and student admissions have begun. Postgraduate education and training activities in the department are carried out by 3 tenured Professors, 1 Associate Professor, and 1 Assistant Professor.
