DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION
The Doctoral Program in Educational Administration started education in the 2020-2021 academic year by admitting its first students. The staff of the Department of Educational Administration consists of 5 Professors, 1 Associate Professor, 1 Assistant Professor and 1 Research Assistant. Courses are held at Mersin University Çiftlikköy campus, Faculty of Education.
Our doctoral program aims to train scientists who comprehend the theoretical knowledge in the field of educational administration with a historical perspective, who can reveal Turkey's educational problems with research in accordance with scientific principles and acceptances, and who are aware of their responsibilities towards the field of science and society. In this direction, a curriculum consisting of the conceptual infrastructure and empirical knowledge of the sub-fields of educational administration, inspection, planning and economics has been created.
The courses in the Educational Administration doctoral program include theoretical and practical knowledge of educational administration theories and practices, leadership theories, philosophy of science, human resources, school improvement and development, accountability and internal control, educational planning, educational economics, educational administration, scientific research and statistics. Candidates are entitled to take the “doctoral qualifying exam” by successfully completing 8 courses (1 compulsory, 7 elective) and a seminar course in the 4 semester course phase. Afterwards, they are responsible for completing the thesis study by submitting their thesis proposals in 4 semesters. Turkish and English literature is followed in the program.
