General Information

The aim of Mersin University, Faculty of Education, Department of Basic Education, Primary Teacher Education Master's Programme;

‘Graduates from the field of classroom teaching / education, to develop and progress in their field, to increase their professional development, as well as to gain scientific and academic research skills.’ In addition, graduates of the master's programme in classroom teaching will also have a certificate of expertise in their field with the master's degree they will obtain. 

Classroom Teaching Master's Programme started education in 2013 with the admission of 15 students. The education period of the programme is 2 years.

A total of 63 students are currently studying in the ‘Master's Degree Programme in Primary Teacher Education’. Postgraduate education activities in the related Department are carried out by 3 professors, 4 associate professors and 1 assistant professor. Graduates of primary school Turkish language teaching, science teaching, primary school mathematics teaching, social studies teaching and English language teaching as well as graduates of primary school Turkish language teaching, science teaching, primary school mathematics teaching, social studies teaching and English language teaching can apply to the Master's Programme in Primary Teacher Education. In addition, those who have graduated from a field other than these fields and have been primary school classroom teachers for at least five (5) years are also eligible to apply. ALES score is also required for the application and a minimum score of 65 from ALES (EA) is required.
