Programme Introduction:

The Department of Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mersin University, was established in 2014. It has been developing its academic structure since then. In 2023, it met the student admission criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and subsequently began teaching activities by admitting students to the postgraduate programme in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the 2025-2026 academic year, it continues its scientific and academic work with one Professor, two Associate Professors, and one Assistant Professor. The department's primary goal is to contribute to scientific life, world literature, national literatures, and related fields of literary studies from a comparative literature perspective, with scientifically competent and academically high-calibre individuals.
