Our faculty was established in accordance with the decision numbered 185/1 of the Supreme Health Council dated May 23, 1995, to suspend student enrollment in Health Vocational High Schools affiliated with the Ministry of Health and to establish Health Colleges in their place. In this context, based on a protocol signed between the Ministry of Health and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on November 22, 1996, the faculty commenced education in the 1996-1997 academic year with the Midwifery and Nursing Departments. Following the opening, no student admissions were made in the following year. Following the completion of the faculty, the faculty continued its activities on the 13th floor of the Metropol Building in the 1998-1999 academic year.
Our faculty operated in Block B of the Yenişehir Campus starting in the 1999-2000 academic year and in the Çiftlikköy Campus starting in the 2010-2011 academic year. Our academic structure expanded with the addition of the Departments of Healthcare Institutions Management and Social Services in 2010, and the Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2016. Finally, by Presidential Decree No. 8653 dated June 27, 2024, and published in the Official Gazette No. 32586 dated June 28, 2024, the status of our college was changed, and it was decided to continue its activities as the Faculty of Health Sciences.
