General Information
History
Computer Engineering Department was established in 1994, accepted its first freshman students in 1996-1997 academic year and has given its first graduates in 1999-2000 academic year.
Our department has accepted 30 students every year by National University Entrance Examination (ÖSS) until 2006-2007 academic year. Additionally, our department has started to offer minor and double major programs in order to provide computer education to the students in the other departments of our university. It couldn’t accept students to the undergraduate program between 2007-2014 academic years by the decision of the Higher Education Board (YÖK). It started to accept students to the undergraduate program by 2015-2016 academic year and continuing the educational activities.
Education Period and Awarded Degree
The total education period of the department is 4 years and there is no preparatory class. Students who complete the courses, 60 days Summer Practice and the graduation project are awarded the degree of Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
Working Areas, Job Opportunities
The graduates of the department can find positions in both the government agencies and the private industry. The graduates generally find job opportunities in different positions such as computer engineer, information systems engineer/specialist, and system controller. The latest technological developments especially depend on the advances in the computer field. As the number of computer and internet users increase, the computer engineering will stay popular for long years. As an expected result of present conditions, computer engineering is one of the top choices of university candidates.
