Overview
The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was established in 1992 to offer four-year undergraduate education and continues its academic activities with six departments: Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Finance, and International Relations. The Department of Public Administration, founded in 1993, has been admitting students since the 1997–1998 academic year. Our department offers a comprehensive higher education program encompassing major fields such as management science, law, political science, and urban and environmental policies.
Since the 2010–2011 academic year, the Department of Public Administration has implemented an education model in which at least 30% of the curriculum is delivered in English, and an English preparatory class is mandatory within this scope. In addition to undergraduate studies, our department also offers master’s and doctoral programs, providing students with the necessary qualifications to continue their academic careers.
Our academic staff consists of five full professors, five associate professors, one assistant professor, one lecturer with a PhD, one lecturer, and four research assistants. With our expert and experienced academic team, we aim to offer students both theoretical knowledge and practical insight.
The educational approach of our department is not limited to theoretical learning. It is also one of our primary objectives to ensure that students develop the ability to generate knowledge required by the public and private sectors and to use this knowledge effectively in management processes. In this regard, we support our students in taking part in professional life as researchers, specialists, or managers after graduation.
We place great emphasis on enabling our students to follow current public administration practices and conduct comparative analyses. Thus, we aim to equip our graduates with the necessary competencies to work as researchers or specialists in national and international institutions. The course content and projects carried out in our department contribute to understanding and analyzing administrative practices at the global level.
Moreover, cultivating individuals who adhere to ethical values and possess a strong sense of social responsibility is an indispensable part of public administration education. We ensure that our students gain the ethical perspective required to adopt a transparent and accountable approach that prioritizes public interest when working in central or local administrations.
Finally, we support our students in developing foreign language and communication skills, as well as the ability to follow current developments and academic literature in politics, law, urbanization, and public administration. In this way, our students are able to pursue graduate studies both in Türkiye and abroad and advance their academic careers at an international level.
Our department aims to prepare students not only for the needs of today but also for the challenges of the future. By equipping them with essential competencies such as critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical perspective, we strive to train well-qualified individuals in the field of public administration.
