Kimya

        Mersin Üniversitesi Kimya Bölümü 1992 yılında kurulmuş, 1997-1998 yılında ise eğitim-öğretime başlamıştır. Bölümümüzde 4 yıllık lisans programının yanında yüksek lisans ve doktora programları da yürütülmektedir. Bölümümüz 15 Ekim 2014 tarihinden geçerli olmak üzere FEDEK tarafından akredite edilmiştir. Bölümümüzün akademik kadrosunda 5 profesör, 5 doçent, 2 yardımcı doçent, 5 araştırma görevlisi görev yapmaktadır. Bölümde Fizikokimya, Analitik Kimya, Anorganik Kimya ve Organik Kimya anabilim dallarında araştırma laboratuvarları mevcuttur. Araştırma laboratuvarlarında bulunan cihazlarımızdan bazıları GC, GC-MS, FTIR, UV/VIS-spektrometre, HPLC, TG/TGA, X-RAY-difraktometre, elektrokimyasal çalışma üniteleri, potansiyostatlardır. Mevcut olanaklar dahilinde hedefimiz, hem teorik hem de uygulamalı kimya alanlarında görev yapabilecek, çağın gereksinimlerine uygun düzeyde bilgi ve beceri ile donatılmış kimyagerler yetiştirmektir. Öğrencilerimize kimya bilimini öğretebilmenin yanı sıra;  disiplinler arası çalışabilme ve kollektif düşünebilme becerilerini de kazandırmayı amaçlamaktayız. Ayrıca bölümümüz; ERASMUS programı çerçevesinde, gerekli koşulları sağlayan öğrencilerimizi yurt dışındaki üniversitelere göndererek bilgi, beceri ve tecrübelerinin artmasına katkıda bulunmaktadır. Alanında deneyimli ve dinamik akademisyenleri ile ulusal ve uluslararası platformlarda diğer üniversitelerle yarışır düzeydeki bölümümüz, lisans ve lisansüstü eğitime verdiği önemin yanında Araştırma-Geliştirme ve Endüstriyel uygulama faaliyetleri konularında yeni girişimlere açık olup, her tür ortak çalışmaya hazır durumdadır.
