Metallurgy and Materials Engineering plays a major role in research and teaching in materials science. This department provides an understanding of how materials behave and how they can be used and improved; essential to the development of new products.

 Fields of Research:

Our department offers research mainly in the following fields to obtain the Master of Science degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering:

Physical metallurgy, Mechanical metallurgy, Processing microstructure and properties of  steels, Oxidation and corrosion of metals, Interfacial phenomena, Surface characterization of materials, metallic materials, Composite materials, polymeric materials, ceramics, light alloys, welding and joining of the similar or dissimilar materials, Powder metallurgy, Aerospace structural materials, Failure analysis and fracture mechanics of materials, Forming of metals and other materials, Fatigue of materials, creep deformation and fracture.
